On the way back to the Valley from Maryhill, we could have stopped at the Toppenish Wildlife Refuge, where on one visit we saw this Long-Eared Owl. (This will enlarge if you click it.)
I posted pics of longeared owls on Nov 1st at a rehab center for owls in Oliver which have now been released to the wild. my pics are thru a chain link fence, much easier to see than in a pine tree.
Hello fellow pacific northwesterner (just across the mountains)... I think this picture is great... I'm in the city and can you believe I don't think I've ever seen a wild owl.

It looks pretty neat but I wish the picture could have been larger when I clicked on it. I would have missed it for sure.
