Due to a possible computer crash, I am depending on any photos I may have currently on my laptop. I took some at the Sunnyside diversion Dam this summer. Irrigation is the lifeblood of the Yakima Valley. The Sunnyside District is one of the first major projects. The sign tells the history.
Clicking on the sign should make it large enough to read.

Sometimes computers get filled up with spam ads and other gobley-guke and that causes them to stop working. I assume you have virus protection and all the on the machine that crashed.
I remember the good old days of canal water. it came in a ditch alongside the sidewalk and then was diverted into the garden as needed. Love reading about histories of these things.
