Eruption rumors?

That is Mt. Adams in the distance--the mountain on the left in the header panorama. Apparently from a different angle, the smoke from forest fires in the area looks as if it is erupting, as news organizations and police departments were getting calls all afternoon Sunday asking about it. This was taken about 6 PM on Sunday from Grandview. The smoke is from a 500 acre fire in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, one of several currently burning across the state.

We have had a very quiet fire season up to now but every where is very dry here.
Were you in Yakama when Mt StHelens blew its top, we were living near Vancouver BC at the time and remember Yakama getting all the ash from the volcano

Great shot. Sorry I haven't stopped by sooner to welcome you to the City Daily Photo community. I'm going to have to make it a regular thing to stop back in and check on shots like this.

This week on http://NewOrleansDailyPhoto.blogspot.com I have a whole new batch of bird photos. Today momma Egret soars into through the tree ready to feed her brood.

From Vancouver, we could see little white clouds hovering over the skyline. I am glad the fire hasn't been able to reach the towns around it yet and hope they get it out soon.

Why do we have to type those crazy letter verification when you moderate comments?
