Got Fruit?

I'm always impressed when I pass this graphic illustration of the types of fruit grown in this valley. It's on the end of a processing plant north of Wapato. And that doesn't even take into consideration the other crops such as hops, asparagus, corn, potatoes, mint, grapes--I am sure there are others that are not coming to mind right now.

The Yakima Valley is certainly diverse all-right. Odd how so often it takes somebody or something, like a sign, to remind us of the bounty around us.

I love Washington and this is one of the many reasons. Over here in the skagit and Stilly Vallys many other crops are grown also. Our whole state is diverse. MB

First, my apologies for a bit of cut and paste commenting. I have been doing the rounds via Bloglines and looking at all the pictures from my favourite photo blogs, but haven’t been leaving comments. Generally, I try to comment as much as I can (I know how good it is for ‘morale’ to know that someone is out there appreciating them), but after the birth of my second son, I am a bit knackered to think up something witty and insightful on the hop. Thus the resort to Control+C and Control+P!

Neat sign -- I was disappointed that I could not enlarge it tho.

That is the one main thing I miss about Yakima-- the fruit! My mouth is watering just *thinking* about how good it is.
