Was choosing a "Best" as hard for you as for me?

City Daily Photo Theme Day for January--"The Best of 2008"

It was really hard to choose the best photo of 2008, and I finally settled on this one. It may not be as perfect an image as others may post, but it has a lot going for it in heart. It has a lot going for it in the spirit of the Yakima Valley. And who can resist that winsome look.

It was taken in September at the Prosser Balloon Rally, and is one of a series of eighteen that I posted in one post at Katney's Kaboodle. That was heaven for photographers. Oh, the color--just hinted at in this shot in the reflection of the balloons.

I sorted through more than 75 favorites in order to decide. About half were taken well outside the Valley, so that helped to narrow them down.

Wow. I am sold on this photo. It looks like the best dog photo I have seen today. Nice shot.

Happy New Year to you and your family from Patty and Abe.

That's a sweetie for sure, and very creative to see the balloon reflection and know what the dog is gazing at. You took a lot of great shots this year! I was so thrilled to get to meet you and so proud of you for doing the 3 Day on your own. Here's wishing you perfect health, fun adventures, and everyday pleasures all through 2009,

Yes, I had trouble. I think you made a great choice. I'm jealous (in a good way!!)

Lovely looking dog, you can tell he wishes he could go chase the balloon. Happy theme day and happy new year too! Wishing you peace, joy, and prosperity in 2009.

I really like this photo a lot--the dog, the reflection, and wondering what's caught his concentration. All good.
